The American Party of Labor (APL) is a Marxist–Leninist communist party located in the United States. It was founded in 2008 and proclaims itself to be the only anti-revisionist party in the US. It is often labelled it "Hoxhaist", but the party does not officially use this label. It is a member of the International Conference of Marxist–Leninist Parties and Organizations.

They uphold Karl Marx, Frederick Engels, Vladimir Lenin, and Joseph Stalin, as classical theorists of Marxism and further supports other figures like Jack Shulman, Enver Hoxha, Che Guevara, Ho Chi Minh, and Kwame Nkrumah. The APL opposes what it views as revisionist tendencies such as Khrushchevism, Maoism, and Titoism.[1] The Party supports Cuba as having a socialist revolution and believes it to be upholding socialist principles.[2]
The APL advocates for the collectivization of all means of production, the implementation of a 30-hour work week with at least six weeks of annual paid vacation, a universal basic income that would bring all Americans above the poverty line, an end to deportations, and the end of all immigration laws.[3]
Activities
The American Party of Labor has divisions in the US states of California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, and Washington.
The American Party of Labor publishes newspapers, runs food and clothing drives, and collaborates with left-wing educational groups on advocacy projects and protest actions. Its newspaper, The Red Phoenix, publishes articles from authors located across the United States.
In January 2024, the American Party of Labor endorsed the March on Washington for Gaza, a demonstration against the Biden administration’s support for Israel in its war against Hamas in response to the attacks of October 7, 2023. The demonstrations ended at the fences of the White House.[4]
As of July 2024, the American Party of Labor’s national chapter was among the organizations endorsing the March on the RNC movement planning to protest the annual Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Other local chapters of the Party include the L.A. branch, the Florida branch, and the Pacific Northwest branch.
