Gender is a social concept involving categorizing people from their range of traits, expressions, and various aspects of biology. Gender is a concept as it originated in the mind or are derived immediately from the social norm. A common misconceptual theory involving gender is gender binary which described how people naturally fall under two categories of gender, male and female, based on their genitals and chromosomes and how intersex people were born as a result of nature's mistake of not conforming to the theory.[1]
Karl Marx had pretty much nothing to say on the topic of gender and sex. Other socalists did discuss gender and sex, although usually in subject of feminism.
