8chan is an anonymous imageboard site known for formerly hosting /leftypol/. The site was taken down in 2019 after an alt-right spree killer posted his manifesto. It was brought back as 8kun.

Formerly home to a number of leftist boards:

• /leftypol/ -- the most active leftist board on the site.
• /leftpol/ -- a spin-off board created due to a dispute over moderation on /leftypol/.
• /marx/ -- a Marxist-Leninist-aligned board intended to have a 'higher tone' and more educational content.
• /libcom/

Its main successors:

• Bunkerchan -- the successor board to /leftypol/.
• Leftypol -- an alternate board which is intended to have looser moderation policies.
