Actually existing socialism (AES), also called really existing socialism or real socialism, is a term developed under the governance of Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev to refer to the camp of self-proclaimed Marxist–Leninist states allied to the USSR.

In the modern day, some Marxist–Leninists use the term to categorize what they consider the remaining socialist states in the world. This includes China, Cuba, North Korea, Laos, and Vietnam. This framework is disputed.
