Left communism
Left communism, also known as left-wing communism or the communist left,[a] composes a number of separate tendencies which emerged in the 20th century as a "leftist" opposition to the line of the Comintern and Marxism–Leninism.
Left communism is composed of two main schools of thought — German-Dutch left communism, also known as council communism, and Italian left communism, also known as Bordigism. These tendencies share common features like opposition to bourgeois democratic elections, united fronts, and rejection of the notion of a lower stage of socialism.
