Bordigism

Bordigism is a term for the variant of left communism which was developed by Amadeo Bordiga in the 20th century. Bordigism upholds Vladimir Lenin and the October Revolution but believes that the Soviet Union degenerated into state capitalism under Joseph Stalin due in part to the prevalence of commodity production, which they regard as being one of the distinctive aspects of capitalism.

Bordigists generally avoid using the term "Bordigism," instead simply calling themselves left communists.

Comparison with other forms of left communism

Bordigism is contrasted with other forms of left communism in that it uphold the dictatorship of the proletariat and vanguard party, unlike tendencies such as council communism. Further, whereas councilists reject Lenin entirely, Bordigists largely uphold him.
