Revisionism

Not to be confused with historical revisionism.

Revisionism, in the context of Marxism, refers to tendencies which undermine the revolutionary tenants of Marxism to make it more compatible with bourgeois interests. Revisionism (and accordingly, efforts to combat it) has existed for as long as Marxism has, an early example being Eduard Bernstein and the social-chauvinists of the Second International who introduced counter-revolutionary and reformist elements into theory.
