Ho Chi Minh
(Redirected from Uncle Ho)

Hồ Chí Minh (born Nguyễn Sinh Cung, 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969) was a Vietnamese revolutionary and statesman who is considered the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, a country which would eventually unite with South to form the Socialist Republic of Vietnam after a national liberation war against the French and United States imperialists.
Hồ, a longtime communist, formulated his own application of Marxism–Leninism to Vietnam, Hồ Chí Minh Thought. He is widely upheld by many communists to this day for his role in his country's independence from foreign control.
