Artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a machine's capability of reason as can learn functions usuallty associated with human intelligence. The capaability won't gain much attention besides technology circles until around the late 2010s and 2020s that AI gain high attention following the popularity of generative AI. OpenAI and several mega-corporations who ulitized the technology are noted to the AI boom that sparks tons of discussions on it beyond technology circles.
Political use
Political users online had used generative AI to spread their beliefs. It's often used more by rightists to spread their propgranda, misinformation, memes, extremism, and art-like images. Gareth Watkins of New Socialist write that rightists are more fond of AI due to it's technical advance that enables anyone, including rightists, to generate their writing and images without the need of artists. Thus, they can generate any image of any art style with their beliefs.[1]
It been noted by various sources that right-wing AI-generated content often consists of chauvinism and xenophobia, particularly against immigrants and muslims.[2]
