Conservatism

Conservatism is a rightist ideology which seeks to reinforce and defend backwards and obsolete traditions, values, and systems. Historically, conservatism has defended monarchies and feudalism against bourgeois revolution, and today they usually stand against socialism and communism while defending the capitalist system.

Conservatism is often linked to reactionism, another rightist movement which aims to counter societal progress. Various conservative ideologies exist and have seen implementation, including national conservatism, paleoconservatism, and neoconservatism.
